Each project reflects our commitment to using craft as a tool for positive social change.

wao-campaign

WAO’s “Abuse is Inexcusable” campaign

The International Sewing School proudly collaborated with WAO’s “Abuse is Inexcusable” campaign by helping design and produce message shirts that amplify survivors’ voices and challenge harmful excuses often used to justify abuse. Our students translated powerful quotes into stitched statements, using fashion as a medium for advocacy and social change.

joyful-jiggle

Joyful Jiggle

We collaborated with Joyful Jiggle, a leading community initiative for plus-size women in Malaysia, to host a mending and alteration workshop at our school. The session combined practical sewing skills with a strong message of inclusivity, body positivity, and sustainable fashion. By creating a supportive space, the workshop empowered participants to embrace their individuality while learning how to extend the life of their garments. This collaboration reflected our shared commitment to community, fashion, and sustainability, while celebrating diversity in the industry. 6-7-24 This seminar reinforced Kalpana’s role as a thought leader in sustainability, bringing together pioneers, professionals, and students to collectively explore how responsible innovation can reshape the fashion industry.
